At Lochlea Lifestyle Resort, we believe that life is for living. Residing in a safe and secure gated community doesn’t mean being fenced off from the world. On the contrary, it offers you security so you feel confident to get out and explore the surrounding area.
Ashburton is bounded by two of New Zealand’s most popular salmon and trout fishing rivers, the Rakaia and Rangitata.
With a population of over 30,000, the town has a strong rural background in farming. Situated on State Highway 1, Ashburton is easily accessible and serviced by daily passenger bus connections from main centres in the South Island.
The Resort
Lochlea Lifestyle Resort is situated at two locations off Racecourse Road. The main resort in Lochlea Estate at 25 Charlesworth Drive comprises of 111 villas and the satellite resort at 146 Allens Road comprises of 39 villas.
Both resorts are within ten minutes of the main centre of Ashburton township and only a short distance from the Allenton shoping centre, bowling green and golf club.
Lochlea Lodge is the hub of the main resort providing residents with the chance to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities. Residents have access to a heated swimming pool, spa, gym, hobby/craft room, library, lounge and bar, pool table, dining room, bowling green, croquet lawn, petanque piste, massage/beauty room and hairdressing salon.
Lochlea Leisure Centre offers residents in the Allens Road Resort the same facilities except for the swimming pool and the bowling green. All residents are welcome to make use of the facilities at either resort.
The resort has its own courtesy van for group tours and shopping excursions.
Radius Millstream Hospital opened in 2016 and is situated at the corner of Charlesworth Drive and Hanrahan Street. The hospital houses beds for up to 80 patients and caters for hospital, resthome and dementia care. Subject to availability of beds, Lochlea residents have first priority over the general public.
